Club-K9 is one of the largest dog care facilities in the DMV area with over 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor fun for your pet! We offer a variety of services which include daycare, boarding, training, workouts, and grooming. We were tired of daycares where our dogs would only have basic play areas and boring walks. We wanted more than our dogs just sitting in crates all day when boarded. So, the idea to create a country club for your furry friends was born. We aren’t just your typical canine facility. We have more play space, indoor alone, than kennel space, an abundance of activities for your dog to do, including trail paths, workouts, and more.

Dog Care Team Leader

Job Overview

We are searching for a Team Leader that’s able to lead by example. Team Leads should be able to aid the general manager in tracking daily tasks and ensuring a high level of standard is practiced at all levels of the facility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform all functions of a team member to the highest standard
  • Courteous customer service
  • Expert in daily operations and routines
  • Regularly mentor other team members
  • Help manage daily employee schedule, breaks etc.
  • Assist GM in hourly/daily/weekly operations

A good candidate should have pervious experience in pet daycare/boarding facilities, and have a go-getter attitude!

Facility Responsibilities

Customer Service and Presentation of the Facility:

Customer Service is one of the main ingredients in providing an experience that will have customers coming back and referring their friends. We strive to provide a facility that is clean and safe for your pets and our employees. As the General Manager, you are responsible for Club-K9’s facility and coaching team members on the importance of every customer leaving with a smile, even our furry customers.

  • Providing a first impression through our front desk experience that encourages customers to register their pets.
  • Be a player/coach and set an example for our staff on how to provide the best possible customer service to our customers and their pets.
  • Maintain engagement with our staff and encourage them to go the extra mile for our customers.
  • Encourage our customers to provide feedback and reviews on our service and facilities. Feedback is the way to improve and providing feedback to our staff will allow them to focus on specific areas of improvement.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of every pet and team member in the store, taking immediate action whenever necessary.
  • Inventory Management of cleaning, dog and first aid supplies.
  • Maintains Club-K9’s facility appearance to adhere to operational standards and safety procedures. This includes maintaining and updating cleaning schedules.

Other Responsibilities

Financial, Management, and Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed goals related to sales, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Monthly and/or quarterly reporting to include forecasting, tracking, and ordering supplies, minimizing payroll, and actively looking for new ways to maximize efficiency.
  • Training staff on up selling and using methods such as dog evaluations and marketing to increase revenue.
  • Review of staffing plan to determine needs and coverage to allow maximum efficiency and cost while maintaining a fully staffed facility focused on the best experience for our customers.
  • Identify underperforming metrics and develop strategies that leverage Club-K9’s programs, tools, and resources to improve and grow the business.
  • Work closely with the ownership group to identify ways to grow the business and maintain profitability expectations.
  • Build daily/weekly staffing schedule and training opportunities.
  • Ensures the proper health, appearance, welfare, and proper handling of all animals.
  • Recruit and train staff on Club-K9 processes and procedures
  • Onboard all employees and insure each employee has the correct amount of training and tools to succeed with Club-K9

We are searching for a Dog Care Team Member who will take pride in providing our customers and their pets with the best possible customer service and experience when visiting our facility.  Our Dog Care Team Member will report directly to the General Manager or Assistant Manager and will be a part of an energetic, dynamic, and fun team.  Below you will find a breakdown of some of the duties and responsibilities of this role.

Job Description

At Club-K9 our job is to make sure we provide a fun, clean, and safe environment to our customers pets and team members.  Our Dog Care Team Members are at the front of the line when our furry friends come to visit our facility.  You will be trained and coached on the procedures and processes of our day-to-day operations.  If you are a person that loves dogs and enjoys the tasks related to providing a clean and safe environment for them, you will succeed at Club-K9.  We offer an opportunity for growth and advancement for Team Members who are dedicated and willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our facility.

Job Requirements

  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the State of Virginia
  • Applicants must be able to commute to the facility located in Sterling/Ashburn, Virginia as the work is onsite.
  • Employees are expected to work in all weather conditions if considered safe to do so.
  • We prefer applicants that genuinely love and have knowledge and/or experience caring for pets.
  • We care for a variety of dogs and applicants must be physically capable of handling dogs of various kinds and sizes over an extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ensure the comfort of our customers dogs by walking, exercising, feeding, bathing, and cleaning cages and pet waste.

Schedule & Availability

We are looking for individuals with the following open availability:

– Monday through Friday Hours 7am – 7pm

– Saturday Hours 7am – 7pm

– Sunday Hours 7am – 2pm

Our employees can be scheduled to work anytime between the hours of 7am – 8p.m. depending on the assignments on their schedule for any given day and the needs of the facility.
